Omakase

Tied with Filipino food, Japanese food is on the top of my list of favorite cuisines. Even if it was out of our way, my friends and I headed to Omakase in Greenhills on a busy Saturday night.

Salmon Sashimi - P220

We started off with ten pieces of fresh salmon goodness.

Miso Soup - P45

Our resident fitness friend always orders miso soup..

Peanut Butter Company

Peanut butter lovers rejoice! PB Co is the first peanut butter themed restaurant in the metro (as far as I know haha).

SM Mall of Asia branch

You will really notice PB Co because of their bright lights.

10/9/10

Big Daddy's Chicken

I first tasted this version of fried chicken in Taiwan's night market, it's like a breed between fried chicken and pork chop. Maybe that's why they call it chicken chop? Hahaha!

When I heard that we now have our very own chicken chop here in Manila, I knew I had to try it. I went to the Greenhills branch with my sister and her friend.

9/25/10

BonChon is here!

Whoohoo!! Welcome to Manila, BonChon!

I was so happy when I saw this while walking around Greenbelt!

One of the best wings I've tasted. I wonder how much the wings are going to be!

Where to find BonChon Chicken (when it opens)
  • Greenbelt 1, Makati

9/21/10

Serenitea - take two!

I take back what I said during my first experience with Serenitea. I have a sweet tooth, so ordering a drink with 50% sweetness level was very wrong. For my succeeding tries, I got the FULL sweetness level - just right for me!

P95 (Large)

Large Okinawa with pearls - this will be my regular drink from now on!

9/17/10

Chicken Charlie

Again, I saw this in one of the blogs I follow. It was described as "Manila's Bonchon crispy chicken." I fell in love with BonChon chicken when I first tried it in New Jersey, so I knew I had to try this!

4 Drumsticks + 4 Wings combo - P289

Hello there chicken!

The skin is thin and crispy. I was conscious because the people around us waiting for their orders could hear the crunch in every bite we were taking.

9/9/10

Maitre Chocolatier

Who loves chocolate? I do!! This is my new favorite dessert place!

Menu looks very posh. I don't even know if I pronounce it correctly!

Golden Euphoria - P250

Ferrero Hazelnut Crunch cake. You'll really taste the Ferrero crunch in every bite. This is one of their bestsellers. I'm not wondering why!

9/7/10

Gino's Eats & Beats

Thanks to the blogs I follow, I was able to find out about this restaurant along Jupiter. I showed it to my foodie friends and they were eager to try it too.

We got an appetizer while deciding what to order. We decided we'll order five more dishes - one pick per person. I didn't bring my camera, so the pictures are from my friend, Chewy. Thanks for the pics!

Grilled Sausage with Cheese Sauce - P220

After eating this, I researched how to make cheese sauce. I want to eat this everyday! Cheesy-oily goodness!

Garlic Shrimp - ?

Not bad, nothing to rave about. I think the 'Roasted Garlic Chorizo and Shrimp' would be better to try next time.

Som's Noodle House

Because my friend said my entries had too much words, I'll TRY to lessen them for the visual people. A picture is worth a thousand words right?

Everyone was looking forward to our Som's dinner as early as lunch time. I was imagining curry, chicken and milk tea from noon til I got there at night.

The last time I ate here, all of the tables were still outside. That was two years ago I think. Good job for the level up!

Catfish Salad - P150

My first time to try the catfish salad. It was crunchy and flavorful. A perfect combination of sweet and salty with a hint of sour taste!

9/5/10

Flaming Wings

Wings places are suddenly popping up all over the metro. I had a goal - to try all of them! First up: Flaming Wings along Taft Avenue.

Flaming Wings can be found right across De La Salle University. The place is packed on school days.

Smokey BBQ Buffalo Wings - P143

There are actually six pieces for the 3-wing order. We didn't know so we ordered too much! You can choose the sauce and the dip of your buffalo wings. This was very soft and tasty and it went well with our ranch dip.

9/4/10

The Ice Cream Bar

Dinner with friends is not complete without more chitchatting over dessert. After our burgers at Sango, we walked just across the street to Joya Tower.

At the counter are the different flavors of ice cream by FIC (Fruits in Ice Cream).

Champorado Risotto a la Mode

Belgian chocolate champorado topped with raspberry ice cream. Good combination!!

9/1/10

Sango! The Burger Master

Friends coming back from Canada and Costa Rica called for a dinner meeting. Our friend from Canada hasn't tried Sango yet, so we dragged her to Rockwell on a Monday night.

Still almost empty at around 8 PM. They show Japanese videos on the TV and there are Japanese magazines and comics for everyone to read.

What to order!

8/15/10

Golden Spoon

After dinner at Shiok in the Fort area, we headed to Paseo de Magallanes for dessert.

It was my first time to try the frozen yogurt here, so I was excited. There are a lot of choices for yogurt flavors!

and toppings!

P195 (Small + 2 toppings)

My friend got the tart yogurt with mixed berries and gummi worms. She likes it healthy and sour, but the toppings were too sour for me!

Shiok

There are numerous Singaporean restaurants popping around Manila. Shiok is located in Bonifacio Stop Over, right beside 7-eleven. You'll see it before the Shell station.

We liked the color of the menu. Pictures are always good, since I'm a visual person.

Hainan Chicken - P245

Along with the chicken, this meal comes with soup, a cup of rice, and ginger, chili and sweet sauce. The chicken was moist, and we liked the sauce (even if it looks oily).

8/8/10

Serenitea, Good Burgers, Buy-the-Bucket

In a year, you can count the days that I'm in Greenhills with one hand. So when my friend invited me, I was excited for a change in venue and new food. Warning: traffic starts at around 3:30pm because of the schools in the area.

San Juan Branch in J. Abad Santos Street

A gloomy day ahead, but we were excited to see Serenitea. (And Ristras just across! Next time!)

Lots of drinks to choose from! We asked what the best sellers are: Okinawa (brown sugar) and Hokkaido (Caramel). You can also choose the sweetness level of your drinks.

P85 each

We trusted them and got Hokkaido and Okinawa. We also got the Choco Milk Tea. I think we felt guilty that time so we got the 50% sweetness level for our drinks. With all the hype, I expected better. That or the 50% sweetness level was not enough. It wasn't that bad though. The pearls were very soft and chewy.

8/2/10

Italianni's regulars

My friends and I love good food. When we're not feeling too adventurous to try new restaurants, one of the default places we'd end up is Italianni's in Greenbelt 2. A couple of us have the BFF (Bistro Frequent Foodie) card which gives us 20 percent off our total bill.

Here are some of our usual orders.

Complimentary bread

Best when it's fresh from the oven. Don't forget the olive oil and balsamic vinegar!

Fried Calamari - P740 (Abbondanza)

The calamari was soft and tender. We got the biggest one, and the serving was huge! You can ask for extra marinara sauce. Two of those is not enough.

Sicilian Chicken Salad - P425 (Lunch)

One of our favorite salads. It has chicken breast, greens, mangoes, grapes and pine nuts.

Welcome to Eats Amazing

Hi!

Some of my favorite hobbies include eating, taking pictures of the food I eat, and looking around food blogs when scouting for good eats. Since I enjoy looking at photos of food, why not share mine too for others to enjoy? I'm not much of a food critic, so I'll be asking my friends' opinions too.

Hope you enjoy!
